Since 2000 the current Michigan State University Drumline has offered help sessions for those auditioning. These sessions are primarily designed to help anyone auditioning for the MSU Drumline, but anyone is welcome to attend, regardless if he / she is auditioning this year or at all.

We will offer weekly help sessions free of charge beginning in January of 2023. Times will be announced; typically these have been Thursdays from 6:30 - 8:30. You do not need to audition for the MSU Drumline to attend; our goal is to assist all percussionists who want to improve! All of the help sessions will be at Demonstration Hall. Please click on the calendar link above to check on the specific weekly schedule.

To ensure you receive all updates on Help Sessions and auditions please fill out this form. Completing this form helps us plan and communicate with you. You do not need to fill out the form to attend! We ask that you complete the form so that we can share pertinent information, any additional music, and any schedule changes to help sessions due to inclement weather, etc. Thanks!

The help sessions are designed to help you! You are welcome to attend to play along, watch, and get information from Dr. Weber and the leaders of the MSU Drumline. All skill levels are invited.

If you are unable to attend the Help Sessions because of distance or schedule but would like feedback from Dr. Weber and/or section leaders, please contact Dr. Weber at drumline@msu.edu . It is possible to send in videos during the spring for feedback before the auditions.

The MSU Drumline Help Sessions aim to help everyone. Do not worry if you cannot play something as well as you want yet; we will help!
